Sir Terry Pratchett week 6 to 13 October

The Beaconsfield Society are excited to announce we will be celebrating the life and works of the best-selling author, Sir Terry Pratchett who sold more than 85 million books worldwide and also happens to have been born and raised right here in Beaconsfield. We will be opening the doors to the wonderful world of his acclaimed fantasy novels!  

If you’d like to learn more about the man and his magical creations, our week of Terry Pratchett-inspired celebrations will be held from 6th -13th October 2018.

Saturday 6th October hosted by Quizzy Sue! 
Come along and test both your general and Terry Pratchett-based knowledge, and have a drink from our fully licensed pay bar.  You can even channel your inner Discworld character and come in fancy dress.  Best outfit wins a prize!
Tickets: £10 to include food and a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society.

Wednesday 10th October we’re delighted to present an evening with Stephen Briggs: ‘Building a world with Terry Pratchett’, a talk on mapping Discworld by Terry’s friend and collaborator.
Tickets: £10 with all proceeds split between the Alzheimer’s Society and The Orangutan Foundation 
Location: Beaconsfield Library 

Saturday 13th October with an evening celebration: Terry Pratchett’s Life. 
This will include the screening of a documentary and a talk by friend, colleague and Estate Manager, Rob Wilkins.  To top it all off, we have a very special video message from none other than Terry Pratchett collaborator, Neil Gaiman!
Tickets: £15 all proceeds to go to the Alzheimer’s Society. 
Location: The National Film and Television School, Beaconsfield.

During the week Let your children’s imaginations run wild at a book cover and colouring competition to be run by Beaconsfield Library. Entries will be judged by Discworld illustrator, Paul Kidby!
