Community Notice Boards

The Beaconsfield Society with the generous support of the Shanly Foundation and Chiltern Railways has erected two notice boards, one on either side of the railway bridge in the New Town. They are available free of charge to community organisations to advertise their meetings and events.

The conditions for doing so will depend on our experience of the wishes of those who make use of the facility but to begin with the following will apply.

Eligibility: organisations will be charities or not-for-profit though other organisations that are primarily aimed at serving the community could also be considered. Decisions on eligibility will rest entirely with the Beaconsfield Society.

Size: Posters should be portrait, A4 in size with a minimum font size of 12 point and we will accept two per organisation, one for each side of the bridge. At peak times you may wish to supply landscape, A5 size to maximise chances that your poster will be placed.

Duration: They can be posted up to two weeks before an event and will be removed immediately thereafter.

Legal responsibility: All responsibility for the content of the posters will lie with the organisation posting it and the Beaconsfield Society will take no responsibility for its accuracy.

Availability: Space on our noticeboards is finite and we may only be able to post notices on one, rather than both boards at peak times. Priority will be given to A5 posters over A4 posters during busy times of the year (March to May and October to December).

Booking: Please complete THIS FORM in good time (3-4 weeks prior) before the event and bookings will only be accepted on condition that you accept the conditions above. We will be in touch shortly after your booking request with a confirmation and further info.

Mounting and removal: Posters will be inserted and removed during the weekend before and after events respectively. Accordingly, they will need to be delivered as hardcopy or pdf via email to the address you will be given when your booking is confirmed.

The Society has made arrangements so that not-for-profit organisations in Beaconsfield can advertise their events using lamp-post banners on the approach roads to the Town.  We had to have them stress-tested and have fixed special fittings that allow EU-compliant vertical banners to be hung. This facility will be completely free to not-for-profit organisations, not only to use the fittings but to have them erected and removed.  There are legal requirements to such advertising and those wishing to use the facility will have to agree to abide by them.  The detailed requirements and a booking form can be found by clicking on Banner Booking.

Please support local businesses who put something back into our town.

We have identified four sites on the approach roads to the centres of the Old Town and and New Town as shown on the map below.  For the NewTown they are on either side of the railway bridge (1) on the west side of Penn Road by Frost’s and (2) on the east side by the entrance to Warwick Road. For the Old Town they are (3)  on the south side of the A40 London Road by the entrance to Burnham Avenue and (4) on the north side of the A40 Oxford Road by the entrance to Walkwood Rise.  These are indicated as quarter red circles on the map.

The photos below, taken before Beaconsfield Now! 2014 of lamp-post (4) give you an idea of how they might look.

If you wish to use this facility please complete THIS FORM and someone will be in contact shortly!

There are plenty of Banner Manufacturers to choose from that probably vary in cost, quality and service. This is a useful site from a company we have used successfully in the past for Beaconsfield Society banners

The Banner fixings are so placed that banners should not block or obstruct any road facilities, traffic /informational signs, directional signs, surveillance cameras or bus stops.

Aqua Pura Window Cleaners are authorised to put up and take down banners on a Monday.

The Beaconsfield Society will provide the fixings.

We politely request that as both provisions are free of charge, a mention is made on respective organisation websites and email event correspondence, to acknowledge the Beaconsfield Society  and the generous  sponsorship of Aqua Pura.

Any queries or if you wish to discuss the suitability of this for your event contact us via

Email  - or use the ContactUs facility on this site.
